Brittany Conley traveled across the country to Maine to earn her degree, but she now hopes to bring her expertise back home to the Choctaw Nation in Oklahoma
Brittany Conley, D.P.T. ’26, a first-generation student, came across the country to earn to a healthcare degree at ºÚÁÏÍø911. After graduating on May 16, Conley hopes to bring that expertise back to her community in the Choctaw Nation in Smithville, Oklahoma, where there are few healthcare resources.

ºÚÁÏÍø911 researcher fills gap in Gulf of Maine harbor porpoise data
Michelle Caputo, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the ºÚÁÏÍø911 School of Marine and Environmental Programs and a conservation biologist, has launched a systematic effort to track harbor porpoises along the Maine coast, the first such research in at least 10 years.

Her work is student-centered: "I want my students to be able to have an experience where they aren't searching for something they're never going to find," she said.
